Annual Awards


Each year Louisiana Federation of Business & Professional Women is pleased to honor our distinguished members and the Local Organizations (LO) who have gone above and beyond  in the following areas:

Inspiring & Empowering LO of the Year

The Outstanding Local Organization (LO) Award will be given to the Local Organization which best exemplifies the objectives of LAFBPW as follows: 
  • Promotes BPW using sound marketing and media relations tools
  • Increases BPW visibility throughout the community
  • Provides opportunities for the local membership to work in coalition with other organizations
  • Consistently reports to State President on monthly meetings and projects
  • Provides career-related education and training programs and leadership workshops
  • Attends and participates at all BPW district and state functions
  • Advances the image of working women






LO Membership Growth Award

The Local Organization (LO) with the highest membership growth for the Federation for the year will be awarded the LO Membership Growth Award.

  • High membership growth and retention (meets at least 20% growth and at least 80% retention)
  • Criteria for membership number calculations are based on  starting membership count on June 01 of the Federation year,  and ending May 31.
  • Deadline for submission must be postmarked no later than May 01, of the Federation year.  Award submission is to be mailed to the State Treasurer and postmarked no later than the deadline date of June 01, of the Federation year.






MAL/SAL Membership Growth Award

The member who recruits the most Members-at-Large and Students-at-Large during the Federation Year  (June 1 – May 31).  Deadline June 1.

  • Deadline for submission must be postmarked no later than May 31.
  • Award submissions is to be mailed to the State Treasurer and postmarked no later than the deadline date of June 01.
  • Emailed submission are also accepted by the deadline date.







LO Membership Retention Award



The Local Organization (LO) with the highest membership retention rate for the Federation Year (June 1 – May 31) will win this prestigious award.  

  • Criteria for membership number calculations are based on June 1 of the Federation year and ending on May 31.  
  • The calculation formula is found on page 11 of the Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Deadline for submission must be postmarked no later than June 01.  
  • Award submission is to be mailed to the State Treasurer and postmarked no later than the deadline date -June 1.  E-mailed submission are also accepted by the deadline date.         
  •                                                                            


Choice Awards


Community Achievement Award (Helping Your Local Community)

Presented to the LO that contributes positively for the betterment of their local communities.

Public Policy Award

Presented to the member who advocates for BPW through participation in a legislative related activity during the prior year.


Member Participation Award

An LO member who is actively engaged at the State, District and Local level.


Programs

To the LO which best documents programs and activities integrating advocacy, education, and information in addressing passage of the ERA, and the public policy issues of economic equity, health care, and domestic violence.


Legacy

Honors a member of at least ten years who has generated warmth and goodwill for all and has developed friendships throughout the state.


Top Recruiter Award

To the member who has recruited the most new members from May 1– April 30.
